The gastronomic shop
in Venturina

Our business began in a small shop in 1919…

Before becoming a restaurant, this place was a country shop.

Our great-grandfather bought it in 1919 and sold a bit of everything, from groceries to household products, and there were even petrol pumps in front of the shop.

Over time, the shop passed to our grandfather Alcide, hence the name, and then to us, two sisters. Today, the restaurant has become the heart of the business, but the shop continues to thrive alongside the kitchen, just as it did in the beginning.

When you enter Alcide, you can eat, drink a glass of wine, or simply choose something to take home.

The products we use,
the same ones we sell

The shop was born from the same idea that guides our cuisine: seeking out quality products from small producers.

Many of the ingredients that arrive at the table can also be found on the shelves, so if you taste a sauce, oil or cured meat during your meal, you can take it home with you.

The wine selection

Wine has always been a natural presence in the shop. Over time, alongside our gastronomic products, we have built up an extensive and personal selection, the result of years of research and meetings with producers.

Our wine list now includes around 700 labels, with a significant portion of the selection coming from Val di Cornia and the hills of Suvereto, an area rich in small, carefully managed wineries.

Not just gastronomy

Alongside food products, the shop also sells selected tableware, small accessories, personal care items and handmade products, often sourced from Tuscan companies.

Many customers choose these items after dining with us, when they discover that at Alcide’s they can take home a little piece of the experience.
